First Grade
Room 204

First grade is an exciting year to assist students in using their natural curiosity to explore their world and dig deeper into the learning foundation they have already begun.  I endeavor to guide students to learn how to be problem solvers, readers and writers, while instilling a love of learning, collaboration and community.

It is a year of tremendous growth, academically, socially and physically.  We have exciting changes like lost teeth and growth spurts as well as ah-ha moments of self discovery and pride.

I look forward to sharing this wonderful journey with my firsties and their families.

About Me

I declared my passion to be a teacher in kindergarten and have loved my decision.  I obtained my B.A. in Education from ASU, M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from NAU, and hold certifications in elementary and early childhood education.  It has been my pleasure to teach in Gilbert my entire career starting in 2000, and have been a Greenfield Gator since 2015. My husband Cory and I have three amazing children who attend Gilbert schools. Outside of school, I enjoy epic family game nights and laughter, baking with and for my family in a quest to find a brownie I don’t like, youth sports and extending my list of Pinterest fails because it never hurts to try!
