I look forward to working with your child this year in preschool.  Not only will I bring in activities that will target their speech/language IEP goals, but I will also bring in activities that will help increase their overall communication skills and get them ready for kindergarten.

These are the areas I will be targeting in the preschool classroom:

  • Letters and sounds

  • Sound production of sounds in words

  • Rhyming

  • Following directions

  • Basic concepts

  • Sentence building

  • Vocabulary

  • Answering (who-what-where-when-how many) questions

  • Sequencing/retelling

  • Listening comprehension

  • Social skills

Together with Diane Smith, we will make sure your child has a great preschool experience.

Sincerely, Brenda Baca, M.Ed., SLT

About Me

I have been working for Gilbert Public Schools since 1995.  I completed my undergraduate program in Speech Pathology with a minor in Spanish from NAU. Then I completed two graduate programs from ASU in Communication Disorders and Early Childhood Curriculum & Instruction.  Prior to working for GPS, I worked for Southwest Human Development in the Bilingual Head Start Programs as a Bilingual Speech and Language Assistant.  Also, when I took an approved professional leave from GPS, I worked as an Early Childhood Supervisor for ASU and worked in their preschool classroom located at the Tempe campus.
